We cover all of Europe, but Scandinavia isn’t a place that we would call a regular destination, so when we do go it’s usually for a job slightly out of the ordinary. Our customer had some sensitive files that were currently in Upsala in Sweden north of Stockholm and they needed transporting by road in a dedicated vehicle to a deep storage facility in the north west of England.
We despatched a Mercedes Sprinter van with with built in bed and night heater as the vehicle couldn’t be left unattended at any time. The driver headed out to Folkestone to board the train to France. He then spent the next two days driving north through Belgium, Holland and Germany and into Denmark, where he crossed the great belt bridge and then the Øresund Bridge into Sweden. Once in Upsala the vehicle was loaded and security seals placed on the doors to the load area. The job was completed in December when the weather was on the cold and snowy side but the driver had no major delays retracing his route back to the train in Calais and back to the UK. The goods arrived back in the North West two days after leaving Sweden and keeping our customer happy.
