A customer of ours made a request to transport some pharmaceutical raw materials to Rimini in Italy for some testing to be done. The weight of the goods and the time restraints required us to despatch two Mercedes Sprinter vans. The vehicles were loaded in Hull on the Monday morning and immediately set off to the Euro Tunnel in Folkestone to get the train to France.
Driving across Belgium and down through Germany and Austria in Winter the drivers encountered temperatures of minus 18.5 degrees across the Brenner pass as they came into Italy. Our vehicles are equipped with bunks and night heaters so our drivers can get a good nights rest. The goods were cleared at customs first in Italy before they could be delivered but still arrived by 10am on the Wednesday. The vehicles then split up with one heading back to Munich in Germany for a return load and the other to Turin to collect and then back into France through the Mont Blanc tunnel heading back to Calais.
